“She can laugh at the days to come.”
-Proverbs 31:25
Maybe I just think it is all wonderfully ridiculous.
Maybe I think it’s ludicrous how He has chosen to make much of the little we bring to Him after all those years of trusting Him from the hidden place in which He put us.
Maybe I think that a church that once struggled, now thriving and growing is better than the best feel-good flick Hollywood ever made.
Maybe I think that the support and encouragement I get from people about this blog, and all these speaking engagements lining themselves up is more fun than watching a monkey tripping on a greasy banana peel.
Maybe it’s just more joy than one can contain to see God grow big things with our tiny seeds of faith.
Maybe it’s because Mr. Fantastic and I are flying to Disneyworld today without the kiddos. (OK, so it’s a work-related trip near Disneyworld, but still- Incredible!!)
I don’t know. All I know is that I am laughing.
I’m laughing at the foolish things made wise, the broken things made whole, the beauty He trades for ashes, and the way a donkey or a child or an angel in disguise can speak the truth of God to you.
It’s crazy, isn’t it?
It’s knock-you-down, smack-you-in-the-face, straight-up loco the way God does as He pleases in this world.
And when what pleases Him begins to please you, well, that’s when you find yourself laughing in the happiest place on earth.
I hope your week your year is full of that kind of laughter.
May joy in Him blot out the dark clouds that loom in the news, at your job, in your health, or in your family.
May the smallness of your life and the vastness of His love for you make you smile radiantly like you just won the title of Miss America, or Mr. Whatever-it-is-men-are-crowned.
I hope that whatever happens, you are able to laugh today.
Happy, happy Monday, friends!
