Silver and Gold

Home » General » Silver and Gold

Mirror, mirror, tell me now,
If and when and why and how;
This life became centered on me,
On mine and ours and us and we.

Saved by His love for what I ask,
Just so I can to heaven pass?
Is there not more than that to do,
With love that changed this heart for You?

Greatness is as greatness does,
So if I am Yours let glory flood;
This life of mine and those around,
With miraculous light and glorious sound.

Use me, use me, God I pray,
Let not there pass another day;
That one could look at me and wonder,
Would I give it all, throw it asunder.

Should You point and say to me,
“That is the thing that needs to be,
Placed in the hands of someone else.
Leave it now and choose to trust.”

How many Isaacs have been held back,
When you have tested, pressed and asked;
If we loved the blessing best,
And not He who made us from the dust.

More than I want what is called mine,
I long to make much of the Divine.
To be a vessel chosen to hold,
A life worth more than silver and gold.
