If your week has been anything like mine, then grab a cup of coffee, pull up a chair and let’s bask in our hope for a better day.
These videos sum up my week:
My bedroom flooded (again) in a big storm, giant spiders and cockroaches invaded my space, my children fought mercilessly, every little thing that could go wrong went way wrong, and some of my relationships snapped at me a little and I feel worse for the wear.
How about you? What dust are you shaking off your feet from this week?
Reading this today is helping me:
See how the early preachers spoke for the Lord by their suffering and by being willing to wait. We think of those who stayed true to Him as happy even though they suffered. You have heard how long Job waited. You have seen what the Lord did for him in the end. The Lord is full of loving-kindness and pity. -James 5:10-11
He is full of loving-kindness and pity. And even in the shadow of a weird, stinky week, I can feel God’s delight in us, hear His song of love, and sense that He likes the way we wait on Him.
I pray the weekend brings His new mercies to us, that our strength be renewed in His greatness, and for happiness to flow from the lesson of endurance that our trials can teach us.
I’ll be at our church women’s retreat this weekend, surrounded by the Texas hill country, sharing stories of redemption with dear friends, and singing praise to God for all He has done, is doing, and will continue to do.
Happy weekend, dear friends. I hope you have a sweet, cockroach free ending to your week.
