a day of grace

Home » General » a day of grace

Baseball season has brought many late nights to our family.

Even with all the physical exertion, and all of the sleep deprivation, my kids are up early with wheels spinning.
This morning I was concerned their exhaustion would make it difficult to focus on their schoolwork.

So we packed up our pencils and books and headed to the library to work.

A change of scenery brought new life to the bones.

We were early, so they climbed a tree while we waited.

Once the library opened, we all quietly worked away. Toys and chores couldn’t distract or taunt us, and it was lovely.

As I sat reading I remembered how I crept into their room the other night after they were asleep and took some photos.

My children shed the seasons of childhood like old skin. They are so ready to grow into who they are meant to be.

But I gather the everyday moments and memories as a treasure for tomorrow.

I can’t contain my love for these four people. Even when they are tired and fight each other, my cup overflows for them.

Today is a day of grace, of goodness, of all that really matters being right here in front of me.

Happy Thursday, friends. I hope you have a wonderful day of grace, too.
