when God breathes your weekend

Home » General » when God breathes your weekend

In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.
-Proverbs 16:9

There is nothing more thrilling than being in the will of God.

For many years I thought I wanted God to answer my prayers about my life and make my own dreams come true. But slowly, over the years, as I have yielded my own dreams to Him and chosen to take up His dreams for me, a great joy has been birthed in my soul.

Getting what you want is fun. Delighting a holy God with your unrestrained devotion is thrilling to the core of your being.

This weekend we have baseball games, family coming to town, a birthday party planned for Boy 2, and another beautiful Sunday with our church family.

It all sounds so typical when I write it out, and yet, this weekend has been breathed into existence by the God who holds time and matter in His fingertips. His dreams for us lie in the conversations, the meals, the love that we will show to others, and in His voice that we will seek in our moments with Him.

Have a lovely weekend, friends. May we trust God, seek His face, and love one another with the love He has poured out in or lives. And may it all shine forth His glory.
