Last Sunday we got to make a big announcement at church: We will go to two services in January.
Our children’s classrooms are overflowing. There aren’t many empty seats on a Sunday. Lost people are finding themselves cherishing the gospel around here. Wandering souls are settling down to live an intentional life of faith.
Many hands make light work, and when God’s hand is among them nothing can quiet His greatness.
As a church, we are standing on a hilltop, hands in the air, rejoicing and exalting the great and mighty God.
How many nights did we go to bed wondering how this would all work out?
How many times did we remind God that His church needed Him?
How many days did He pick us up, tired and weary, and remind us that He would never leave us?
God loves His church. He loves His people. He is our mighty King.
I have learned at least one thing getting to the top of this hill: Amazing things happen when people who love one another decide to follow God and work hard.
Down the hill, on the road ahead, are more days full of building His Kingdom. We will need to remember how He led us to this place so we can make it to the next glorious victory.
As we go, I will be thinking how wonderful it is to be in the midst of friends, making much of Jesus.
Yes, yes. We are in this together. And the best is yet to come.
