the day is coming and pulling me onward;
all that i see will melt away.
standing before me i will see
the Face i have sought on stormy and sunny days.
on that day i will be as You are;
i will see as You see and know what You know.
all inconsistency and doubt will light and burn;
the true foundation of life will remain.
the water of worldliness is cleansed by this hope;
purified by the sureness of that day.
when I will stand because You fell;
when Your blood ushers me into all that is yet to be.
beyond that moment i can only dream;
is it a beginning or an end-
or will it be neither?
will there even be hands on the clock to point?
as every knee bows;
the praise of eternity raised to the One alone;
who came as we were
and rose as we could not;
as time collides with eternal love and justice there is only this: You are.
